Bicarbonate of Soda is also known as Bicarb and Baking Soda and it is used to raise or aerate many baked items. The active ingredient in\u00a0FREEE Bicarbonate of Soda<\/a>\u00a0is bicarbonate of soda with the chemical code NaHCO3. It is naturally alkaline and combines with the acidic ingredients used in a recipe, together with oven heat, to generate bubbles and lift during baking. \u00a0If used in excess it can impart a metallic taste.
