This fast-acting yeast is suitable for bread baking and yeast cookery. It is convenient and ideal for hand baking and bread machines, just add Quick Yeast straight from pack to the dry ingredients in your recipe. The yeast is vacuum packed to keep it fresh so the packaging will appear hard until opened.

Highly effective, simply add 1 tsp of Quick Yeast for every 500g of bread flour.

Doves yeast is easy to use and gives consistently reliable results with Doves stoneground wholewheat sack flour. For a long overnight rise, use a little less, otherwise use recommended amount.

Mr Healy. I too found this. I changed from a sachet quick yeast to doves as doves was better value. My bread seems to rise far to much initially and then is flat on the top.My machine manual suggests that when using fast action yeast then use only 1/2 tsp if the recipe calls for 1 tsp. I am trying this next time - will let you know how I get on!

The yeast is VERY easy to use and brilliant. I make bread by hand and as long as you mix the yeast, sugar and salt in to the dry flour well, before adding the water everything works fine. I Always make 3 loaves at a time and add one extra teaspoon of yeast to the 3 loaf mix - just gives it that added flavour. For ease of use I simply mix in the water with a flat wooden spatula and then ball everything up with one (oiled) hand and leave to stand before kneading in the oil I like to add. Haven't had bread like this since my mother made it (every day) in the sixties.

I don't know why you are advertising any sort of yeast on here as it mimics gluten in the body and celiacs shouldn't consume either gluten nor yeast. Research it and you will be very shocked.

Hi. Many thanks for your comment, we can confirm that our Quick Yeast is gluten-free and also approved by Coeliac UK.  Best wishes, Doves Farm.

Hello! I saw the yeast contains emulsifier (sorbitan monostearate). Is this ingredient and its concentration in the product safe for children? And is it ok to use the yeast to prepare meals for kids? I look forward to your answer. Thank you so much!

I have used Doves Farm strong flours, wholemeal and white mixed, with this yeast and half a teaspoon of vitamin c three times a week in a Panasonic breadmaker for the last year and a half. I have never had a failure other than when I forgot to put the paddle in the machine. All other bread tastes pretty substandard to us these days. Best treat in the World is a slice of fresh bread with freshly made lemon curd.

Your yeast is excellent. We've used it for years. But now we're in crisis - none in the shops and your own shop is closed! Why??

Fantastic quality and excellent value. Very easy to use and always fresh. This yeast is the best that I have encountered and will use it again again and again when I can.

The Doves Farm Quick Yeast meets my basic product requirements for an instant yeast: it makes my bread dough rise and the loaves stay risen during baking. I find it works very well in my Panasonic breadmaker. It is very good value versus sachets which is a bonus. It is French and I would have preferred to bought British. It does include an emulsifier (a synthetic wax, E491: sorbitan monostearate) but so do most of the instant yeasts on the market. It does not include vitamin C (ascorbic acid), but that has not affected its function in my recipes. The packaging is durable and moisture-proof, but the reusable closure (sticky tape) is not sticky enough - I prefer the small tins with a plastic lid from a competitor.
