Gluten Free White Sauce
About this recipe:
This all in one method makes a great basic white sauce. Depending on how you plan to use the sauce, grated cheese or chopped parsley can be added at the last moment.
Equipment:
saucepan
Ingredients:
50g FREEE Plain White Flour
50g butter (or vegan butter)
425ml milk (or vegan milk)
salt and pepper
Method:
- Put the flour, butter and milk into a saucepan over a medium heat stirring all the time.
- Continue stirring as the sauce thickens, bring to the boil and cook for a minute
- Remove the pan from the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Very good texture. I first made a roux for a minute though (I do this with my own non-gluten free recipe). This recipe is easily made and nice & creamy, no lumps. My brother-in-law will be grateful for his lasagna ?

I added cheese to this. When you make the sauce, it tastes a bit "floury" but it is perfect with Lancashire or Wensleydale cheese for a lasagne!
