Gluten Free Gram Flour Batter

About this recipe:
This vegan batter made with Gram Flour and water is ideal for frying sweet and savoury items such as vegan apple ring fritters or vegan battered vegetable fritters.
Equipment:
mixing bowl, frying pan, kitchen towel and slotted spoon.
Ingredients:
75g FREEE Gram Flour
Β½ tsp FREEE Bicarbonate of Soda
125ml water
oil, for frying
Method:
- Measure the gram flour and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl, stir to combine and sieve this into a large mixing bowl.
- Add half the water and stir to bring together a smooth and thick paste.
- Stir in the remaining water.
- Put some oil in a frying pan over a medium heat.
- Dip your item to be cooked in the batter, shake off any excess and slowly slide it into the hot pan.
- Cook over a medium heat turning the item until golden on all sides, about 4-10 minutes depending on size and heat of the oil.
- OR cook battered items in a deep fat fryer according to the manufacturerβs instructions.
